About Ktibaty
Our Story
At Ktibaty, we believe every child deserves to see themselves in the stories they read. Born from a deep love of our Moroccan heritage and a need to transmit it, Ktibaty was created to bring culturally rich, beautifully illustrated books to children around the world.
Our Mission
We are on a mission to make Darija children's books that are joyful, relatable, and rooted in the everyday experiences of Moroccan families navigating multi-lingual homes— whether they live in Casablanca, Paris, Montreal, or Dubai.
Through characters like Zaynab and Zayn, we explore the world together: going to the souk, celebrating Eid, heading to the beach, and discovering new adventures — all while nurturing a love for the Arabic language from the very first pages.
Why It Matters
Language is identity. When children read stories in Darija — stories that reflect their culture, their family, their world — they grow up proud of who they are. Ktibaty is more than a book brand. It is a bridge between generations, a celebration of roots, and a gift to the future.
Made with Love
Every Ktibaty book is crafted with care, from the illustrations to the words on each page. We pour our hearts into creating stories that parents and children will want to read again and again.
About the author
Hi ! I'm Rim
After having my first child, I faced a problem I lived every single day : no book was designed growing up between languages, between worlds, between a grandmother who speaks Darija and a playground where nobody does.
That's when I put down my pencil, sat on the floor with them, and started drawing the life I wanted them to see reflected back at them.
I'm a Moroccan mama, a self-taught illustrator, and someone who believes deeply that the stories we give children shape who they become. Not in a big dramatic way — in the quiet, daily way of a book read before sleep, a sentence repeated until it feels like home.
Ktibaty (كتيباتي — "my little books") was born from that floor. From real tantrums, real kitchens, real zellige tiles and pampas grass and msemen on Sunday mornings. The first pages, the first drafts are painted by hand, in watercolour, because I want my child to feel the warmth of something made with care — not a screen, not a template.
Whether your family is in Casablanca, in Paris, in Montreal or in London — these books are for every child who deserves to see themselves, hear their language, and feel proud of both.
Thank you for being part of our journey. 📖✨
